World leaders seek common ground on crises

At odds over how to strengthen the global recovery, top world leaders found common ground on foreign policy Saturday, condmening North Korea for the alleged sinking of a South Korean warship and endorsing a five-year exit timetable for Afghanistan

In a joint statement, the leading eight industrial democracies also criticized both Iran and North Korea for continuing their nuclear march and called on both to heed existing United Nations resolutions." Source: AP

We've reached an age where global problems constrain nations to come together for global solutions.

"But there are not many, even among educators and statesmen, who comprehend the causes that underlie the present state of society. Those who hold the reins of government are unable to solve the problem of poverty, pauperism, and increasing crime. They are struggling in vain to place business operations on a more secure basis" Ministry of Healing, 183.

This confirms Bible prophecy as penned in the 17th chapter of the book of Revelation. Global crisis, both natural and manufactured, are preparing the political landscape for world leaders to give their power to the beast, for "These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast (Revelation 17:13). By the time the papacy and apostate Protestantism are ready to bring the Sunday Law, world leaders would by then be ready to embrace and enforce their views and demands.

May God bless His people as they take the everlasting gospel to all the earth before the final storm breaks up.

Religious Liberties Will Soon Erode

"Google shut down its mainland Chinese-language portal earlier this year over censorship concerns and a cyber attack it said it traced to China. China has the world's largest number of Internet users and while the market has boomed, Beijing has kept a tight grip over sensitive content on subjects like politics and ethnic unrest."

Robert Boorstin, Google's director of corporate and policy communications, said, "Google believes very strongly, as do other companies, that censorship is a trade barrier." Source: Reuters

Web censorship has been a subject of debate recently; while big companies condemn it for restricting free trade and competition, some interest groups hail it for security and moral reasons. With the increase in internet scams, civil authorities feel justified to ban suspect IP addresses from entering their borders. But now the ax has also extended to those websites deemed “controversial” for political stability. This practice may soon lead to suppression of freedom of speech and thereby subject web content to the mercy of civil approval.

What does it mean for God’s people? While we cheer when the state ban internet scam IPs and pornographic sites, yet this power may not reign without abuse. Subjective classifications like “controversial” may in the future be applied to those who preach the everlasting gospel. Very soon it will be very difficult to write or preach about subjects like the antichrist.

In our day of freedom of speech, it seems unthinkable that the state may extend its ax to ban religious expression or practice thereof, yet the Bible record tells us that we are moving towards a time when the United States, and the rest of the world in its steps, will have “power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.” Revelation 13:15.

Satan's End Time Distractions

In eastern Zimbabwe, a black farm foreman was beaten unconscious and a farmer's wife was barricaded into her homestead and given four hours to leave, the union alleged. It said police had not responded to calls for help.

The attacks received scant attention in the international media, where all eyes were turned on Zimbabwe's neighbor to the south as it counted down to Africa's first Soccer World Cup. Such is the intense fascination with the competition in South Africa that other African news could find it hard to compete.  Source: Mail & Gurdian

Such distractions are not uncommon. As we near the close of this world’s history we will see the enemy working with untiring efforts to keep the minds of men glued to scenes of folly and glee.  The indifference shown by international media in the killing of the farmers in Zimbabwe is but an example of how the devil monopolizes media to under-report incidences in order to focus largely on the World Cup in South Africa. With such bias in media, many events that may be of prophetic significance will go unnoticed.

It would be well for God’s people to keep a watchful eye in times like these, for the devil is wondering about like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. God has called His saints to be separate, that is, to show a distinction between those who serve God and those who serve Him not. Knowing by practical godliness how to be in the world, while not partaking of its indulgence and sin, “having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust” 2 Peter 1:4.
